Grand Theft Auto Online's Doomsday Heist is one of the best updates...

With the Doomsday Heist, Rockstar launched a brand new update for GTA Online. Now a regular update for the online world of Los Santos is not that special, but this update is. Unlike the many cosmetic items and the addition of different modes with previous updates, this update brings just a bit more. We get a brand new heist, free and for nothing.

The heist

The heist is a story driven online adventure that spreads over three different chapters. Like a good book, this adventure goes into three parts, planning, preparation and then the execution. Concentrated in terms of location, the missions are not, because they take place all over Los Santos, in the air, on land and at sea. This only benefits the variation and we can already say that we are dealing with a very well put together adventure.

The heist can be played with 2 to 4 people and in principle everyone can participate in the heist. How much money, what level, how you live or what kind of clothes you wear, therefore makes little difference. It is true that it is only possible for players with a Facility to start a heist. Through the new planning room, a CEO or MC president can call a crew together.

The heist itself revolves around the powerful and wealthy tech-magnate Avon Hertz who manages a neurotic supercomputer. This computer finds out that there are malevolent forces that pose a threat to San Andreas. With your team you ensure that these forces are eliminated and your San Andreas saves from destruction.

More than just a heist

The new heist is a welcome addition to the now enormously grown GTA Online, but this update has much more to offer. Although the title is Doomsday Heist, we see a lot of new content in this update. This is partly due to the fact that much of this content plays a role in the story about the heist itself. Outside of the heist, however, the content is also available and this is on the extended side.

For example, we see the addition of 9 new cars equipped with big weapons, 6 new sports cars, The Avenger as aircraft and Fortress with weapons, a crazy Orbital Cannon, 6 new Mk II weapons to upgrade in the MOC and even 8 new Trophies. The most striking addition in all this is still the Orbital Cannon, which with a laser beam from space makes a player change to ashes.

The vehicle workshop offers access to special vehicles such as the Thruster jetpack, Khanjali Tank and the Chernobog ballistic missile launcher. The jetpack is of course the wet dream of every GTA Online player and with this update that becomes reality. These special vehicles can be found online at Warstock in the game, they also offer the Deluxo, Stromberg and RCV as well as a number of other vehicles.

Lovers of ordinary cars are also short of nothing, so there is now a Pfister Comet Safari, which can be equipped with two forward pointing gun turrets. Furthermore, Legendary Motorsport is expanded with the Ocelot Pariah, Coil Raiden and Ubermacht SC1. At Southern San Andreas Super Autos we find the new supercars Vapid Riata and the Declasse Yosemite. More than enough choice.

All in all a wonderful update

With so much content, the Doomsday Heist update marks another highlight for the game. The support of Rockstar has been great so far and with this update one shows that even narrative content is very important. The fact remains that we would have liked to see more of this type of content, but it is understandable that this is a lot more difficult to make than new modes. Knowing Rockstar has been working on this for a long time and the developer is known to release something when it is really good and complete. The update is from now live and although we have highlighted a lot, we have not yet released everything about the update. Curious what else is new? Then quickly download the new patch.

Synopsis

To save San Andreas from total destruction, a wealthy tech-magnate, idealistic secret agent, socially uncomfortable conspiracy theory thinker and a neurotic supercomputer must join forces. As apocalyptic threats from unknown opponents come at you, you and your gang have to solve mysteries and protect the streets of Los Santos. Take care of the streets from the shoreline to the deepest depths of Mount Chiliad in an epic new online adventure.
