Health requires to respect some rules!! Intelligent Eating Series


Hello Steemians!! How are you today?


Ready to read some facts about health?Cause in the field of health, there are secure unchanging laws, which condition the health and diseases for plants, animals and humans; facts and laws that are above all disputes, opinions, or preferences. How many diseases, disabilities and deaths could be avoided if we have strive to comply with the laws of health? 

I started a few weeks ago this Series of Intelligent Eating,  I'll share with you all the great infos about health I read in this book "Intelligent Eating", written by Dr. Emil Radulescu, who is a romanian doctor specialized in internal diseases. He wrote a couple of books on nutrition and health, but I didn't read all of his books yet.  


Like I said in my previous post of this Series, this book is full of facts, knowledge and science information regarding human's health.

Did you know that Alcohol is the main cause of mental retardation in Europe countries?


Described for the first time in the late 1960s, fetal alcohol syndrome, or alcoholic embolism, is the most severe form of birth defect with facial malformations and internal organs with brain injuries and behavioral disorders.

The mothers of these children have drunk alcohol during their pregnancy. Each swallow of alcohol that mother ingested, will reach the same concentration to the embryo or the fetus, whom can't tolerate any amount of alcohol. The most dangerous period is at the beginning of pregnancy, when the mother may not even realize she's pregnant. Children with fetal alcohol syndrome have a lower development, both in the uterus and after birth. And during breastfeeding, you have to give up altogether alcohol, which reaches very quickly in breast milk at the same concentration which is also found in the mother's blood.

Researchers at the University of Minnesota have shown that the risk to give birth to children who will make acute myeloid leukemia was three times higher in women who consumed more than 20 glasses of wine or 20 beer pills throughout pregnancy, than to abstinent mothers.

A hundred years ago, diseases related to atherosclerosis, breast cancer colon cancer, prostate and lung cancer were almost unknown diseases. Also diabetis was rarely seen.


Today, diabetes and its complications and these other diseases are responsible for almost every second death .They are one of the most common cause of death. The world has accepted the idea that illnesses related to atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, cerebral infarction, or cancer, diverticulosis, arthrosis and others are the diseases of the advanced age, something you have to expect anyway. 

But reality is quite different!!

The first description of coronary artery disease and myocardial infarction appeared in medical literature in 1911.

We must understand that, in fact, all these diseases called "degenerative" are not degenerative, they are not necessarily the result of aging! The fact that an increasing number of young people are suffering from these conditions, contradicts this opinion, dont you think?

Epidemiology of the twentieth century unraveled the mystery, demonstrating that most of these modern diseases are due to lifestyle. In fact, they are diseases of the abundance: too much food, too much drink, too much smoking and too little movement.

Since we can not choose our parents and it is not up to us to create an ideal environment, the health of today's population depends first of all on what we are willing to do for ourselves, especially regarding to food, what we eat, what we drink, physical activity and the fact that we smoke or we dont smoke.

Without disregarding the achievements and possibilities of modern medicine, we must get used to the thought that we are responsible for our health and that no one will do for us what we can do for ourselves!

Someone said he started studying medicine with a firm intention of helping people stay healthy. At graduation he noticed that, instead of becoming an expert in health, he became an expert in diseases!

The conception that the diseases of the Western society are related to our personal lifestyle and that they can be prevented, being even reversible, is one of the most important medical discovery of the 20th century.
