It seems that 2023 has started with a bang for most people. In more ways than one. Activity on Hive seems down and perhaps it's a function of RL returning to some sort of post-pandemic "normality". That, and some of the curved balls that RL seems to throw at one.

But first

The usual bit of housekeeping: despite the decrease in activity, the number of Silver Bloggers has grown since November and we now have 1,645 subscribers! This community would not be what it is without all of you!

To everybody who contributes to making this a fun community and especially to our delegators. The value of delegations to the community account is stable and we remain ever grateful for your having shared it with us. Remember, each delegation adds value to the Mother account's vote.

We're a bit tardy with our news, but we've actually been working behind the scenes on strategies for giving subscribed Silver Bloggers who post in our community and whose posts are curated for the regular smorgasbord and prompt posts.

Since last month, and with help from @lizelle's hubby who developed a weighting system for the votes at first, second and third place, as well as special mentions, we have a more objective system for picking prize winners.

@iwannabeme told us what she does instead of resolutions in Now be it resolved...or maybe not. Why resolutions don't work for me and what I do instead.

I long ago gave up on New Years Resolutions as a way to motivate my own growth towards being the best version of myself. I think it's something about the definition of resolve: "decide firmly on a course of action" that doesn't ring true to me. You see, I'm not a firm decider of many things. I LOVE and ADORE optionality. I like exploration, curiosity, and experimentation. So, deciding firmly on a course of action is rarely my cup of tea.

@ifarmgirl Silver Farm Girl shared how she and the Farmboy have been fulfilling their desire to explore and visit new places in More of Life (and of What's Out There).

And so I'm kind of in a meditative mode these days. Life is what we make it they say, and we are determined to let things flow more on the positive side as we enjoy and love more this beautiful life.

@thebigsweed Long Silver told about his progress in getting back in shape in MY NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION, GETTING BACK IN SHAPE ... so far so good.

I'm a man of habits and this routine is becoming a habit which makes meeting my goals easier every day.
