We are already in the last days of the year and at least to me it seems that this year has gone in a breath. And because of the comings and goings of the hustle and bustle of life it's been a while since we did our usual Smorgasbord, but we are back with another handful of posts from our Silver Bloggers: at that time when we share some of your jewels. But first, let me tell you how we selected the posts.
Selection criteria
All the posts are chosen from posts in the community, and from accounts that have subscribed to the Silver Bloggers' community. Also, the topic must fit in with our general themes as set out on our community page -
- a keenness to learn more about blockchain and crypto
- life experiences
- musings and memories of lives lived
- planning for (and doing) life beyond formal work

Christmas Trees Past and Present
I would consider forgoing the entire Christmas tree tradition except that I love reminiscing about old friends as I place on the branches the ornaments they gave me over the years. And the twinkling lights brighten up the otherwise-drab, cloudy, days so common in north Idaho winters.
This year seemed just a Blur / Stop! life is going to fast.

Well!...looking back I can truthfully say, I think Paps and I did a Stirling job in bringing our girls up, they're all turned out to be awesome successful people, loving and kind, always ready to give a helping hand to whoever needs it, whether materially or just a warm hug.
That's what this time of the year is all about...not so?

Being with my friends was amazing, we had such a long time without seeing each other and without talking that we had a lot of things accumulated to tell that we all wanted to do it at the same time and we laughed like crazy without stopping. I love making fun of my friends and I love it more because I make them laugh so much. That smile is what lasts in my heart for a long time and makes me happy.

I grew up as one of nine kids. I never knew we were poor (I use that term loosely, I never went to bed hungry) as we were always rich in love. Christmas was never about "what" we got, and I say this honestly. We had a big, extended family and we always got together and made our joy together, It was the best time of our life. Kids don't need things to be happy. Love is relatively inexpensive. We have become accustomed to feeding the wants and not the needs.
Should we be dollar cost averaging our time?

Time is one of the great equalizers in this life. We all only have a limited amount of it and how much that might be is often out of our hands. I keep telling myself that I need to live in the moment and enjoy each day that is given to me.
