When my Intro to Hive Silver Bloggers was published on 20 April 2021, I was blown over by that blog resulting in 282 comments from many well-seasoned bloggers!
This was a sure sign that the tongue-in-cheek suggestion by Flowing Silver to start a community for bored retired young-at-heart folk who could do with a little extra income, was a winner!
Topping up the purse is something that's always as sweet as honey to the ears of our generation especially, as we're either nearing retirement or been kicked out of the corporate world already!
The idea was to attract more Silver folk to our buzzy Hive.
Would any of you want to be called a dull Grey Blogger? Not me for sure, but a Silver Blogger sounded much brighter, although it has nothing to do with Silver coins as some of the buzzy bees think!
I loved Flowing Silver's idea as I had quite a number of friends here who fitted the bill, so I mulled it over for a while, bombarded two seasoned bloggers who I have immense respect for, Sassy LUT and Sterling Silver, with questions about forming a community, and the rest is history.
The talented and very capable Silver Flower was roped in, and Silver Bloggers started growing and flourishing.
I think I can rightfully call myself the old Mama of all Silver Bloggers ;)
So...I will share with you why I love all my Silvery off-spring :)
EDIT was done at this stage, which I'm leaving on my blog...
I nearly had a heart attack some ten minutes ago! While multitasking, I could not find my draft...but then realized I had hit the publish button and my blog was only half done!!! Can only happen to an old Silver or not?
Back to my love for my Silvery offspring...

So...I am a real old softie, call me a sentimentalist; but reading blogs in our community often leaves me with a warm fuzzy feeling!
The memories that are shared here, at times have me wiping away the tears; some bittersweet, some sad but mostly happy tears!
You make me laugh at times while reading about some of the awkward moments that happens to all of us, like a little earlier when I was side-tracked while writing this and accidentally hit that publish button. Being a tad more mature does help during times like that as we have learned to laugh at ourselves!
As Silver Bloggers we all understand the challenges we're faced with; one of them is that we're kind of stuck in the middle (middle-aged sounds ancient!)! Many of us Silver kids have to take care of grandkids (I'm still waiting for that miracle), while others take on the role of caring for our ageing and ailing parents. In a recent blog I spoke about how we come into this world as tiny babes who need nurturing and as we grow older its as if we retrogress back to that phase again.
Silver Bloggers is my happy home, a place where I can share my life experiences and know that they are forever stored here on the blockchain.
During sad times, I have found it immensely therapeutic putting my feelings into words, and the support you have all given me, especially during the difficult period of Mom Lily's illness and departing from this world, has been invaluable!
I nearly have 1000 Silver Bloggers' kids; some that I have not seen for a long while, and I miss you, but know that you are all part of this family, and I look forward to seeing you when you are ready to return to this home.
Those of my Silvery kids who regularly visit and keep Silver Bloggers abuzz, I thank you!
Last but not least, I am the luckiest Mama Bee on Hive, having the most awesome team of conscientious kids in Silver Flower, Silverfish and Silver Cat, you are simply the best!
