Almost 3:00a.m. I’m slipping back to a dangerous trend of nightly blog posts. This was one of those days that just stick at you like porcupine quills. There was never one thing that went devastatingly wrong, just several little annoyances that impeded my work. Constant interruptions while at @caffetto, while I was trying to execute a crowdfunding live-drawing strategy for @coppercoins. The BTC market ate shit…again. After I got @guthrie to bed, I went back to @caffetto and worked on editing, writing and some artwork for @eos.detroit. I really needed it. Productivity is definitely my anti-depressant.
I’ve been trying to get to photos of my friend Susan for months. I wrote a blog post a few nights ago titled, “Confessions with pinup model, Melia D'Mure!”. In it, I mentioned how incredibly patient she’s been waiting for just her first set of edits. I also said, she was an unfortunate victim of “…squeaky wheel gets the grease”, and how she’s the least squeaky […which is why I love her so]. Susan is also in that camp, although she hasn’t been waiting as long as Melia. I shot with Susan this past summer in New York City. Tonight was the first chance I’ve had to return to the shoot and edit.
I’ve written in previous posts how sometimes, although it’s not great for business, I love returning to a shoot after months of not seeing the photos. It’s like falling in love with the pictures all over again. I remember during this day, it was noon, and extremely bright and hot out. Very challenging conditions for a photographer. Some of these images, I can’t believe I was able to make. Susan has such great energy. She’s one of the most positive people I know. I can’t wait to wake up tomorrow morning and text these first edits to her. They’re worth the wait.
I have another few sets of edits of Susan still to come. My first pass through the shoot, I picked an image from each location. The next round, I’ll pick out some of the best, as I usually save those for last. I’m really happy I was able to complete these photos and get them on the blockchain tonight. It’s a great balance for the set backs of the day, even though I’m going to pay for this late night tomorrow. Lots to do. Only a week left on my @coppercoins IndieGoGO campaign. Thanks for reading and supporting me here on Steemit. For more photography and the stories behind the work, follow me here @kommeienzuspadt!
