Eşarplar ilk olarak Antik Roma'da işçiler çalışırken kullanmıştır. O dönemlerde işçiler eşarpları sıcaktan korunmak için kullansalar da günümüzde eşarplar aksesuar görevi görmektedir. Ayrıca Amerika'da kadınlar, üstü açık arabalara bindiklerinde ya da kullandıklarında saçlarını korumak için eşarpları kullanmaya başlamıştır. Araba temalı eşarpların popülerliği de Amerikan rüyasının otomobillere yansımasıyla başladığını düşünüyorum.

Scarves were first used by workers in Ancient Rome. Although the workers used scarves to protect themselves from the heat in those days, scarves are used as accessories today. In addition, women in America have started to use scarves to protect their hair when they get in or drive open-top cars. I think the popularity of car-themed scarves started with the reflection of the American dream on automobiles.
Açıkçası klasik arabalarla tıka basa dolu bu muhteşem müzede eşarp koleksiyonunun olmasını beklemiyordum. Koleksiyoner Murat Özgörkey'in sadece klasik otomobillerin ve motosikletlerin değil arabalarla ilgili hemen her şeyin koleksiyonunu yapması beni şaşırttı. Hatta sadece motorlu araçlar değil zamana meydan okuyan nerdeyse her şeyin koleksiyonunu yaptığına eminim. Buna araba temalı eşarplar da dahil. Sanırım insanlar bir şeyleri toplamaya başladıktan sonra yine aynı insanlarda her şeyin koleksiyonunu yapma arzusu doğuyor. Aksi taktirde araba temalı eşarplarla ilgili bir koleksiyon yapmak kimin aklına gelirdi?
Frankly, I did not expect to have a scarf collection in this magnificent museum, which is crammed with classic cars. I was surprised that collector Murat Özgörkey collects not only classic cars and motorcycles, but almost everything related to cars. In fact, I am sure that he collects not only motor vehicles but almost everything that defies time. This includes car-themed scarves. I think that after people start collecting things, the same people want to collect everything. Otherwise, who would have thought of making a collection of car-themed scarves?
Eşarpların hemen hepsi kare olsa da bazıları ince uzun atkı biçimindeydi. Sanıyorum ki o zamanlarda atkı biçiminde bu ürünler çok fazla kullanılmıyordu. Tabii bu durum koleksiyona eklemek için bulunmalarını zorlaştırmış olabilir.
Although almost all of the scarves were square, some were in the form of thin long scarves. I think that these products in the form of scarves were not used much at that time. Of course, this may have made them difficult to find to add to the collection.
Bu eşarpları görünce aklıma 1980'leri konu alan Amerikan yapımı filmler geliyor. O zamanların söz konusu filmlerinde hep yeni üstü açık fakat şimdilerde klasikleşmiş arabalar mutlaka olurdu. Sözüm ona o arabalarda da mutlaka kadınlar bu eşarplardan kullanırdı. Hatta ellerinde rüzgara karşı sallardı. Bu eşarplardan birini alıp sallamak istedim. Eşarpların dokusunu çok merak ettim. Ancak önümde büyük bir engel vardı. Yüksek güvenlikli kilitli pencereler... :)
When I see these scarves, I think of American movies about the 1980s. In the said films of those times, there were always new open-top cars, but now classic cars. Supposedly, women used to use these scarves in those cars as well. They even waved them against the wind in their hands. I wanted to take one of these scarves and rock it. I was very curious about the texture of the scarves. However, there was a big obstacle in front of me. High security locked windows... :)
Key Museum'un eşarp bölümünde iki eşarbı çok sevdim. Bunlardan ilki Ferrari temalı olanıydı. Onu yakından fotoğraflayamadım. Bulunduğu yer çok yüksekti. Beğendiğim ikinci eşarp ise Gucci'nin klasik otomobil temalı eşarbıydı. Bu eşarp hem ilgi çekiciydi hem de çok zarif duruyordu. Siyah beyaz klasik bir otomobil ve etrafına işlenmiş renkli ve yine klasik araba temalı çerçeve harikaydı. Eşarbın ana teması olan klasik otomobil bir Rolls-Royce'den başkası olamazdı. Orada hemen biraz araştırma yaptım ve bu eşarbın ipekten yapıldığını öğrendim. Hem çok zarif hem de yumuşacık.
I loved the two scarves in the scarf section of the Key Museum. The first of these was the Ferrari themed one. I couldn't photograph it up close. It was located very high. The second scarf I liked was Gucci's classic car themed scarf. This scarf was both interesting and very elegant. It was a black and white classic car with a colorful and classic car themed frame embroidered around it. The classic car that was the main theme of the scarf could be none other than a Rolls-Royce. I immediately did some research there and found out that this scarf is made of silk. It is both elegant and soft.
Eşarp bölümü müzede bulunan diğer insanların çok fazla dikkatini çekmese de ben koleksiyonun bu bölümünde hatırı sayılır bir zaman geçirdim. İpek ve gösterişli eşarplar ilgimi toplamayı başardı diyebilirim. İşte böyle arkadaşlar. Böylece Key Museum Serisi'nin bu bölümünün de sonuna geldik. Bana bu bölümde de eşlik ettiğiniz için ederim. Although the scarf section did not attract the attention of other people in the museum, I spent a considerable amount of time in this section of the collection.
