Look at this shark smile, I do not mind catching little ones like this but the 6 foot Bull sharks, like the one I had today, are a pain in the rear end. It had my rod bent so far over that I could hardly get it out of the rod holder. I got lucky with it because my leader broke instead of losing 100 yards of line that was being pulled off of my reel.
I think this shark is frowning.

This is why you should never give up. A friend called and told me that a friend of his saw pompano at Long Point and another friend told my husband of pompano at Duck Point so I went to Long Point and My husband went to Duck Point. I caught 25 head of pompano that will weigh at least 40 pounds. I did not go to the fish house, we iced the and will take them there tomorrow. I did this because I did not get home until 5pm and my back was hurting, plus a thunderstorm was happening.
This basket of fish is worth 240 dollars to me, a retail market will make 800 dollars, and I am not sure what a restaurant will make when they sell the pompano dinner but I think they will triple the retail market price.
My husband said when he put his boat over this morning there was dead fish on the ramp and floating in the water as he was leaving the ramp. I put my boat in at a different ramp and did not see any dead fish. All of the rain we have got has caused an algae bloom and this is causing the fish kill because there is no oxygen in it.
My husband set his pig fish traps yesterday, to go trout fishing if he did not find the pompano. He said he had 200 bait in the traps but 160 were dead. He caught 3 trout and no pompano.
