RE: Hivewatchers Prematurely Triggered a Train of Downvotes on my Introductory Post

Hello.
No new accounts have been blacklisted unless they are evident part of a scam.
Some new accounts that committed abuse may receive reward equalisation on posts as a reprimand.

He thought it was like Reddit

Just because plagiarism and content theft are prevalent on Reddit (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) since no one checks anything and cares about checking anything, it does not mean that it should have an automatic pass here.

It happened to an amazing musician I onboarded years ago.
He thought it was like Reddit and he posted interesting articles, hivewatchers blasted him for plagiarism and he never posted again.
The dude is so talented and a true loss.
hivewatchers could help guide and teach new users proper etiquette instead of destroying their rep and morals about Hive.

Could you please tell me the name of the account that was downvoted by us for fraud many years ago?
I would like to check up what was the case.

By the way, it is onboarder's responsibility to teach users that fraud/abuse is not tolerated on Hive.
It is not our responsibility to do your work for you.

I’m sure the chain has lost way more good accounts than they have protected the chain from abusers.
Certainly, those people chased away would have brought more value than some scammer account cost the chain.
Damn shame in my eyes.

It seems like you must have done a detailed analysis and research backed by evidence if you are well-informed about the work that we do. You seem to be very confident in spreading such opinions.

Could you please provide us with your detailed data and analysis of your evidence-backed research so we can look it up?

If you have no evidence to support your claims except for cherry-picked single cases of some abusers that showed up in the last few years, then it is just plain trolling likely based on emotional bias.

Last week I was at #hivefest in Mexico. Hive watchers and a few other downvoting accounts were heavily talked about as causing new users to leave.

Let me guess, it was heavily talked about with @chrisrice?

The account @alohead was reported to us and it seemed suspicious. It received some downvotes to prevent possible reward farming. The downvotes were later removed after verification as explained in Discord conversation.

Just in the last week alone, we blacklisted about 50 accounts for Identity theft/deception. By the way, @chrisrice. The first 43 were created using Dbuzz. I suspect now that dBuzz has no account creation verification of any sort (like email or phone) so scammers are free to generate accounts as they please.
