Hi I'm Danny! I'm travelling around the world! Follow me here.

In part four we trekked through rivers to come within one day of the hidden city. The journey continues and we finally arrive!

The entrance is up a really steep path of cobbled steps.

This is one fragment of who knows how many settlements and remains of lost cities in this jungle.
This whole area was discovered quite recently. It was totally engulfed in jungle and vegetation. This discovery happened much more recently than Machu Picchu in Peru, which has become a huge tourist hub. In comparison to Machu Picchu which has thousands of tourists a day (largely helped by a train service that runs right up to the entrance!) our group of ten arrived in total isolation.

This experience was without a doubt much more enjoyable and special than when I visited Machu Picchu. The long three day trek with plenty of sweating and hard work pays of when you arrive to this absolute isolated bliss. I'll leave you with these photos...
