We can all benefit from following our dreams.
Our lives unfold in magnificent ways
when we live true to our path and
take responsibility for the authentic expression
of our true selves.
My daughter Quincie has been an incredible inspiration to many,
as she consistently lives her life according to what moves her the most.
Singing women's barbershop 4 part a cappella harmony with
Sweet Adelines since she was 10 has given her lots of experience,
connected her in deep friendships
with people of all ages around the world,
and has given rise to being an example of what happens
when one dedicates their energy to creating an awesome life.
Her quartet, The Ladies, won the novice division at the
Sweet Adelines 72nd International Convention,
and made the top ten in the semi-finals,
advancing them to the finals competition.
Here is their finals package, which won them 9th in the world
out of the top 43 quartets competing in St Louis this past week.
Quincie's dream is to become a Queen (1st place International quartet).
Being this is her first Women's International Quartet competition,
I believe she is on her way to Queendom!
I've been encouraging her to bring her men and women's barbershop world
here to Steem for the open mic competition with my friends @luzcypher and @verbal-d,
but her life is already full with singing and all of her other passions,
so thought I'd share it with you myself.
Music is a universal language,
and 4 part a cappella harmony can really
get under one's skin.
I've always loved harmony myself, but didn't know how much I loved it until my kids started singing it. Barbershop is such an intricate craft with so many details that I've not seen in other genres of singing. It is a dialect all it's own that can grab you and pull you in.
I'm sure you can feel the passion.
I hope you enjoy!
