How Can A Hive User Find Their Niche Community?

Are you NEW on hive? Are you a content creator? Do you have a specific niche you post about?
Then maybe you wish to find more hive users from your niche, who share the same interests than you but do not know where to start.

Let's find out together below, some of the steps you can take to start finding your nice communities and grow your hive network!

Preface

I got the idea for this post yesterday. A hive user commented on my post about how to promote a post on LeoFinance and I wanted to help her out finding where she can post her art / while doing a shout-out for her, let's say hi & welcome @luck-jem !

I am also tagging here my friend @traciyork & @lovesniper to give their valuable insights!

Searching for communities to post our drawings/art

First of all, let us think of some hashtags that the users could use when posting art.
I would suggest: #art #drawing #sketch

(By the way, it would be nice if we could get a cloud of similar tags that users use - any idea about how to create this)

In this example I will use hive.blog to search but you can also use peakd or any other front end that you use

Searching: /trending/art

First of all art is a very generic word, so it is natural that we will get to see a number of different content. Even so, we can still see 3 communities that may be of interest to us

Now you can explore these communities, find more posts by users who sketch/draw/produce art and then you can communicate with them, ask any questions etc!

For instance I found this beautiful post by @ayana511 who is posting the steps of producing a watercolor painting
@ayana511/36516j-happy-or-watercolor-portrait-painting

If I could make a short algorithm out of it I would say

  1. Find out the tags of your niche
  2. Search your tags on any front end and see which communities the users use to post them
  3. Click on some of the posts that you enjoy and comment on them, follow new users, see what other tags they use
  4. Post in some of the communities, and at the end of your post ask about users' feedback. Everyone will be happy to help & share insights!
  5. Remember to check your notifications offer to see if you have been mentioned/replied to etc
  6. Make sure you post in the right communities, if you are unsure it is best to ask before making a post on a wrong community. For instance, @leofinance is about crypto/finance
  7. Extra tip: You can use microblogging like @dbuzz (https://d.buzz/) or #leothreads (https://leofinance.io/threads) to meet other hive users, ask questions and to promote your work!
  8. You can have an idea about existing communities here:
