Today is my first day back to the office with normal working hours. It was great to see and chat with the colleagues again after what seems to have been months.
As we continue to enter Winter, days get shorter and the sun is rising later in the morning. As I left the home the sunrise was still casting some nice colors in the sky.
The air was freezing cold though. It was so warm a few days ago that his drop in temperature was a real shock. Today I'm commuting alone as my colleague and neighbor is ending his night shifts today. There is some misty rain going on this morning. I thought something was spraying water on the windshield but it was just tiny droplets of rain. It happened for several minutes until I reached the train station. Those droplets of water created a rainbow by the station.
This is Narara train station. It's a very small station as you can see, so small that there is no office, so small that on express trains in order to get down at this station, you have to sit on the last four carriages (out of 8) or you will be stuck in the train. I've done the mistake several times when coming from the City and had to wait for 3 more stations before being able to get down the train as the following stations also have short platforms...
For the last couple of days, I've been chatting to @lecongdoo3, a fellow Team Vietnam member, about my life and how I spent 16 years in Europe, over 16, 000 Km away from the family home.
This reminds me of how much I miss my friends in France and UK. My wife and I moved from the UK to Australia so that we can get closer to our families, hers in Vietnam and mine in New Caledonia but the thing is we are now far from both our families and from our friends! We are closer, but still far. It had been hard for the first year but we got to like it here, living an outdoor lifestyle, away from all the insecurities of big European cities.
Finally today, I've received the #teamaustralia t-shirt I won for participating in their Karaoke fundraiser:
- I'm singing for TeamAustralia "KARAOKE" FUNDRAISING: "I Still Call Australia Home" by Peter Allen
- TEAM AUSTRALIA "KARAOKE FUNDRAISING" - RESULTS!
I can now go and advertise Steem in the real world 🤣
