Sighted in Benalmadena

A hop-on hop-off tourist train that shows tourists around the city.

The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain, and that would be up North around Madrid. Ten weeks here in Benalmadena and not a drop of rain. In and around the city, the place is green and luscious. That is because it's well watered. But outside of the city, the place looks very hot and dry - arid even, to me. I was told that it is not only the lack of water, but the land is more rock than soil. And with the warm weather, the grassland turned brown very quickly. So vegetation is difficult

The picture showed a very dried out patch on a slope.

Spain is one of the most mountainous countries in the world, so, everywhere you look, you will see a mountain as a backdrop.

The roads are slopey. Up one slope, down another throughout the city. Some of the slopes are really steep, and it needs real effort to go up them.

The tables and chairs of these restaurant are on a slope. I have never eaten there before, but I imagine one has to always keep an eye on the contents on the table lest they slide away. I don’t think I would be comfortable dining or drinking on a slope.

Another one perched on the lamp post outside the balcony. The Doves go coo-coo-coo… all day long.

Swifts flying overhead. I wonder if they fly into each other.

On the main streets where it is busy, the traffic lights have the green man urging people to hurry up when the lights are about to change.
