The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain, and that would be up North around Madrid. Ten weeks here in Benalmadena and not a drop of rain. In and around the city, the place is green and luscious. That is because it's well watered. But outside of the city, the place looks very hot and dry - arid even, to me. I was told that it is not only the lack of water, but the land is more rock than soil. The Mad Ass - An Irish Sports Bar.
