Continuing on my series – The ABC to Achieving Success. This is the last instalment.
On the road to success, a little help or advice from those who have achieved success works wonders for us. It is like someone pointing out the pot holes on the road, or removing obstacles on the road for us, making our journey easier, smoother and more enjoyable. It gives our confidence a boost when we know that those who have gone before us were also like us when they started. It shows that if they can do it, we can do it too.
Take Responsibility for Your Life – You create everything that happens to you... If you want to be really successful, and I know you do, then you will have to give up blaming and complaining and take total responsibility for your life – that means all your results, both your successes and your failures. That is the prerequisite for creating a life of success. It is only by acknowledging that you have created everything up until now that you can take charge of creating the future you want. - Jack Canfield
It is time to stop looking outside yourself for the answers to why you haven't created the life and results you want, for it is you who creates the quality of life you lead and the results you produce. You – no one else! To achieve major success in life – to achieve those things that are most important to you – you must assume 100% responsibility for your life. Nothing less will do. - Jack Canfield
Think Big – The size of your success is determined by the size of your belief. Think little goals and expect little achievements. Think big goals and win big success. Remember this, too! Big ideas and big plans are often easier – certainly no more difficult – than small ideas and small plans. - David Joseph Schwartz
Think Unconventional Thoughts – The key to success is to risk thinking unconventional thoughts. Convention is the enemy of progress. If you go down just one corridor of thought, you never get to see what’s in the rooms leading off it. - Trevor Baylis
Turn Problems into Opportunities – Each problem has hidden in it an opportunity so powerful that it literally dwarfs the problem. The greatest success stories were created by people who recognized a problem and turned it into an opportunity. - Joseph Sugarman
Use Your Imagination – The great successful men of the world have used their imagination ... they think ahead and create their mental picture, and then go to work materializing that picture in all its details, filling in here, adding a little there, altering this a bit and that a bit, but steadily building, steadily building. - Robert Collier
Working and Persevering – Those who have attained things worth having in this world have worked while others idled, have persevered when others gave up in despair, have practiced early in life the valuable habits of self-denial, industry, and singleness of purpose. As a result, they enjoy in later life the success so often erroneously attributed to good luck. - Grenville Kleiser
