Looks like we have an x-ray of a hand going on or something on the reverse 😅💀🩻🦴

Well... Guess what?!

Turns out this commemorative 10 mark from 1995 is actually dedicated to the 150th anniversary since the birth of William Conrad Röntgen and the 100th anniversary of the X-ray!

For those of you unfamiliar with the guy, he is the father of X-ray:

Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen (27 March 1845 – 10 February 1923) was a German mechanical engineer and physicist, who, on 8 November 1895, produced and detected electromagnetic radiation in a wavelength range known as X-rays or Röntgen rays, an achievement that earned him the inaugural Nobel Prize in Physics in 1901. In honour of Röntgen's accomplishments, in 2004 the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) named element 111, roentgenium, a radioactive element with multiple unstable isotopes, after him. The unit of measurement roentgen was also named after him. source and further reading

As always, the reverse features a unique imperial chicken design. Damn, those Germans love their chickens 🐥 🐔

The coin edge is engraved, which is a nice bonus to have on any coin!

It reads

ERSTER NOBELPREIS FÜR PHYSIK 1901

For

FIRST NOBEL PRIZE FOR PHYSICS 1901

A clear reference to the Nobel of Physics Röntgen won in 1901!

As for silver, this piece is 15.5 g of 0.625 purity. That's about 0.31 oz. Not bad for a standard circulation coin!

Ok plebs that's it for today!

See you soon with more silver!
