Here's something cool I learnt today.
The Pygmy marmoset is the world's smallest monkey.. And by small I mean really, really small!
They usually are just a bit over 100 g with a head to body length ranging from 11 to 15 cm.... Pretty much as big as a dick a finger, which is why they are commonly known as finger monkeys.
Don't know about you, but I think it's really crazy a real monkey can be so small!
Just look how it fares versus a leaf katydid

Damn... Imagine walking next to a bug that is as big as you. I know I wouldn't be as playful or curious as this little guy 😅
There are two pugmy marmoset species:
- Cebuella pygmaea
- Cebuella niveiventris
Cebuella pygmaea is the smallest of the two by a small margin, with the average male being 110 g, slightly smaller than the average female at 122 g.
The species is native to South America, occupying a range which intersects borders with Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.
In case you are curious what such a small monkey feeds on, it's mainly small insects and fluids from trees like sap and gum.
Anyways, here's another video, my guess is that it isn't a full grown individual cause it's super tiny

So cute. I'd love to squeeze it 😅
Ok, ok, one last video
Ok, hopefully you enjoyed hearing about this loveable creature _. As always, Wikipedia is a great place to learn more about it!
See you soon with more strange critters 🐒🐵
