A'mara Books Update - February 10

This week at A’mara Books:

This week, I did a lot of re-editing and re-formatting, even some research about printing options. I also took the week off of Neví-related writing and worked on a different story that is now scheduled.

I also discovered a new Discord RPG called EliteGamers which has taken more than its fair share of time, to be honest! (But it’s really fun, so I hang out there to relax and beat up on monsters.)

Despite all the craziness that dominates my life, I still managed to write:

Nearly 11,000 new words!

Charlotte’s Story Had all the new words this week. It brought this story to 22k words including a few key words to remind me what’s to happen later – either in her story or in the followup. I’m preparing to reveal to you who, exactly, the Curator is – and this is going to involve at least three “Other Worlders” - i.e. people from Earth.

Editing and Publishing

The other main task this week was updating all my Draft2Digital files for the Rebound of Power set so that everything is now current. In addition to correcting the calendar problems I found last week, I also lightened many of the maps so that they’re more black-and-white compatible. They’re not perfect, but they should work a lot better now.

I also spent a lot of time preparing my Acting the Part set for epublication which I plan to do this coming week.

I was about to put the Rebound of Power set into print with Barnes & Noble, then discovered that they don’t provide free (or even cheap) ISBNs. They refer you to the place to buy them. Yeah… ONE ISBN was like $300! Of course, I could buy 100 for $600! No thanks. I think I’ll be using Lulu instead. I’ve used CreateSpace before, but I have a strong dislike for Amazon (they are not author friendly, people – buy elsewhere!) so I’m going to do it elsewhere. Maybe I’ll get that one done this week – it depends on how much editing will be required to get it to Lulu’s print standard.

	Acting the Part - 851 T.C.E. Collection of Romance The Neví have infiltrated the Terrenden Freedom Party. Dr. Jarly is on the run and the Curator still dominates the Terrenden stage. Famous actor, Derick Aiden has released his Neví expose film and now the Neví want him dead... In this collection, we meet more interesting women. Kauri - a simple receptionist who doesn’t realize one of her wildest dreams has come true; Tirry - an elections manager who is always the bridesmaid and never the bride; Zara - a chef who has all but given up on finding love for herself; D'zani - who isn’t even looking, but has to chaperone her more vulnerable roommate; Soala - an heiress who is expected to marry, but refuses to marry someone she doesn’t love; Moxara - one whose past griefs have locked away her heart. We also get updates on some of the lovely ladies we met previously.
