Crazy bird

I keep hearing it.

That sound. It always starts at the same time in the evening. At first, I thought it was a young deer calling for its mom. They make a strange sound. It doesn't remind you of a deer at all. I wonder why some you animals play dead while others scream at the top of their longs. Shouldn't instinct tell them its better to play dead instead so the enemy will not find them?

The sound isn't much different from the sound of a kitten but kittens keep quiet if mom leaves, they do not scream for hours plus it is winter. The wolves do not respond and they would have with a kitten around, probably killed it.

"It's a crazy bird", my youngest once said.
Big chance it's right but why can't it shut up, learn to chirp a bit? Why does it scream like a kitten in need at certain times? If it is a bird... birds get older too and they leave. At least I hope they do unless it is a lunatic. I do not like to have that around here. I already have crazy neighbors fighting and killing. If it was a cat I would take it in but I will not host craziness.
