It is cauliflower today.
I had only 2 euros to spend this week and that was what it costed... on sales.
I saw the other lady study the cauliflowers and hesitate. So did I for a second as I saw it.
The cauliflowers are small.
Very small and it is too much money for what they ask. Two euro for a cauliflower smaller as the size of a newborn's head.
Still, I bought it. The kid saw it and I can make curry sauce with it.
This is what is left of it.
I am even more disappointed now and can't help thinking I should not have done it!
For that amount, I could have bought milk, toiletpaper, and toast bread. 😭
It is even less after I removed all the trunk.
Do you see that small matchbox in between it? What is left is not even enough for one child!
I spent next week's money too. Two euro for minced meat made out of turkey. I used a bit for yesterday's spaghetti sauce and made small burgers out of it. Hopefully, we can eat 2-3 more days from it but if the cauliflower is so less.
, First of all, I took some small pieces of cauliflower for a snack.
It isn't much but only one kid will eat it.
With mayonnaise, curry, some chili pepper I made a dipping sauce to it.
These kinds of sauces are usually used with potato chips but raw vegetables taste good too.
You can eat the leaves!
And that is what I am going to do and why I didn't hesitate that long in the shop.
I cut the leaves in small pieces, cook them and stir them through the mashed potatoes.
I have the burgers and gravy is easily made. There's one onion left I might use it.
I have a huge bowl filled with what many throw away.
People this is foid, good food. You can cook it or use it in your wok. It is good for a stew or soup or whatever you like.
This is enough for one-day food perhaps even two.
I didn't throw the trunk away.
I cut it in small pieces and we will eat it with the tiny bit of cauliflower I put on top of it.
I will make a curry sauce to it too and if the youngest likes it can eat applesauce with it. I still have it in my cupboard.
