My lovely lady, @clairemobey and I have been celebrating "Monthaversaries" since the first month that we have been together.
We met at a new year's party. It took each of us a few days after that to really realize that other was really interested in us, but once we had, we traced that evening we met as the first day of our relationship. ❤ Love at first sight.
The little celebration stuck. Sometimes we did not have to go on a date to celebrate. Often it would just be a small gift like chocolate or some flowers and time spent together at home.
This month, Claire insisted we go out to News Cafe on Blouberg Beachfront. She had spied a breakfast special that was both super cheap and super yummy. Being parents to 3 children and 3 cats means that we have be thrifty with our money!
Our drinks were the first to arrive. Check out the awesome perspective shots I took. That blue sky and the mountain beyond!
Then our breakfasts! This is a R40 breakfast special, meaning it costs around $2 USD. A perfect little breakfast to start out the day. I know construction workers who spend the same money on their eats in the morning! For this amazing meal at this amazing location, it was such a treat without needing to feel guilty over spending too much money on ourselves.
Some Acrobats arrived unprompted, so we got to watch some entertainment while we were there as well. These guys travel up and down the Beachfront area and perform in front of all restaurants that have outside seating facing the sea and a decently sized flat area for them to do tricks.
They arrive, announce themselves through a series of rehearsed synchronized speeches and then do several running flips and jumps.
Eventually, they start building towers standing on top of one another.
The one below is quite tall. They have one man lying on his back on a mat they bring, his feet supporting another in a sitting position. Their tallest member then stands on this man's thighs while the lightest and most agile man runs, jumps, climbs and they do the double handstand, place a run cushion on top of the tall guy's head, and then they go head to head and no hands for a total balance!
They also did the "Christmas Tree". I did not get the whole pose in the shot since we were sitting right in front and were quite close. The two guys at the top are actually both off the ground.
With the man at the top pulling the other, one arm is used to suspend him off the ground. Still quite a lot of strength for the guy at the bottom, pulling off a nice smile since he could see that I am taking a photo! Haha!
The rest of the breakfast meal was quiet, though the Newscafe restaurant and Catch 22 next door were using all of its outside seating. The weather was just too perfect.
What a lovely outing together. It is not much of a "walk" since Claire has an injured knee, but it was an excursion and something very different from sitting at home all the time!
I feel very blessed and I feel very loved. (@clairemobey 😘)
Thank you for reading.
Cheers!
