I've read your response twice. First I answered directly and much longer, but then I decided otherwise and if you allow me, change the art of communicating.
First, I have a quote:
Before I had studied Zen for thirty years, I saw mountains as mountains,
and waters as waters.
When I arrived at a more intimate knowledge, I came to the point
where I saw that mountains are not mountains,
and waters are not waters.
But now that I have got its very substance I am at rest.
For it's just that I see mountains once again as mountains,
and waters once again as waters.
Then, I have a little riddle for you, which relates to problems and solutions:
In a building there is a very slow elevator. The building has no stairs. This is seen as a problem. How would you solve it?
Have fun with coming up with answers :) - I used this riddle in the very end of the article about problems. It's a text from a personal and families point of view. I recommend also the comment-section to read. ... Oh, the riddle is solved there, so don't read through the comments before you have not tried to give your own answer, otherwise it'll be spoiled.
Here are some more statements and questions:
Heinz von Förster once stated: „Not the speaker but the listener determines the outcome of something having been said.“ Seen in this light, I am inspired to say, there is truth to it. It lingered with me. I wanted not to jump right away from this interesting statement but try to catch the deeper meaning of it.
You said
But the study of life can be isolated or analyzed, dissected. It can be separated and studied.
You maybe familiar with this sentence: „Life is greater than the sum of its parts“. But have you heard the statement: „Life is something other than its parts“?
That made me wonder.
How much wonder do you safe for yourself? Why is it that you like (your?) life to be isolated, analyzed or dissected?
Can something be true without being labeled good or bad?
... that would mean the problem was not really a problem in the first place and that it was misdiagnosed originally.
Great, that is what can be said. Excellently concluded from my point of view :)
