TreeTuesday - Walking through a ginkgo avenue

How many of you know Ginkgo biloba?!

Since I knew it was a living fossil I became fascinated by this beautiful tree. When I found this avenue, I took some photos that I'm sharing today (Wish I could be back and shot some more!)

I wrote an informative post about the ginkgo tree 3 months ago (here).

Resuming: Ginkgo tree is the only living species of its genus, family, order, class, and division (Ginkgophyta), found on the rocks of the Jurassic and Cretaceous period (270 million years).

It's native to China, but widely planted as ornamental, being popular in towns worldwide and farmed in plantations for their medicinal properties.
