After the early morning shift work yesterday, I should have gone to bed during the day but I thought I'd be smart and try to adjust to a new sleep cycle so stayed awake all day in the hope to go to bed early and wake up early (3 am) so that I would get used to this. Big mistake! I forgot it takes a week or two of adjustment time and the first days are always tough. So I went to bed at around 8:30 pm but only slept at around 10:30 and woke up at 7 am instead of the expected 3 am this morning. I wasn't feeling well at all due to the excess lack of sleep.
Before having breakfast, I jumped on Discord and joined the few that are still online on @surpassinggoogle's Steemgigs Discord server. Terry was already asleep as it is late for him. Amongst those who were still online were: @angelacs, @dynamicgreentk, @dynamicshine, @missteriously87, @samic and @nuelpete. @dynamicshine gave us a nice performance at singing (sorry I can't remember the title) while multitasking: singing, swaying, typing and babysitting! @angelacs even replaced me and carried on singing "This little light of mine" as I had to stop in the middle of the song and attend to the little one. I sang "All of me" by John Legend and also "Sunny" by Bobby Hebb on the Ukulele and an acapella "Amazing Grace".
After breakfast, we went to Westfield shopping centre in Tuggerah to try to find a Durian for @guiltyparties' contest, but again, I ran out of luck... The second reason why we went shopping is to find a little present for my son's and my own martial art master's newborn son.
Westfield is one of the most popular chains of shopping centres in Australia. It is one of the two shopping centers we usually go to during the weekend. The other one is Erina Fair, the largest single-storey shopping centre in the Southern Hemisphere. After shopping, we usually stop at the food court for lunch. I let my wife drive again today because I didn't feel good and safe for driving. It's a good thing Minh-Sa got her driver's license this year or we would have been stuck at home.
Back home, I went to the garden and decided to trim the potted lavender to promote more growth in Spring. I took some cuttings and added some of the leaves to the bowl of Pot Pourri in the toilet.
I then put larger cuttings in a large Organza bag and left them in our cloth cupboard. I will take them out in a couple of days to let them to air-dry because fresh leaves will get moldy if left in the cupboard. The smell is marvelous and relaxing.
Today's #ulog will be short because I went to bed at 3:30 pm and woke up at 7 pm... Totally messed up hahaha. It's 11 pm now and, in 30 minutes, I will start a new shift that will end at 3:30 am.
