This is my final post on the Costa del Sol – for this year anyway. Did I hear someone heave a sign of relief?

The Costa del Sol, or Coast of the Sun in English, is one of the most important tourist attractions in Spain, and for the region of Andalusia. It makes up 35 % of Spain’s income.
It is approximately 150 km long. It stretches from Nerja to Estepona - 150 km long of beach, with hotels, apartments, eateries and shops on one side of the promenade, and the beach on the other. The beach just seems to go on and on. And one can imagine the tourist dollars it is bringing in. The peak season is between the months of June and September, when hordes of tourist flocked there to soak in the sun.

Along the Costa de Sol, the four most popular towns are Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola followed by Los Boliches. Each town has its own attractions.
Torremolinos attracts the young, hip and trendy crowd. It is known as the party place, where clubs don’t open till midnight, and patrons are often seen staggering out in the early morning. If you are looking for a place to beach in the day, and party all night, Torremolinos is the place for you. But because the young, hip and trendy has got spending power, things are pricer in Torremolinos.
Benalmadena is an older town of holiday homes and retired expatriates. It is peaceful, easy-going, and relaxed. Expatriates are mainly from UK and Europe. Some of them own homes here and they travel in and out.
So, if you are looking for a quiet place to relax and recharge your energy, Benalmadena is more suitable.
Fuengirola is similar to Benalmadena but on a smaller scale - a smaller town and therefore quieter.
Los Boliches is a smaller version of Fuengirola. The towns are next to each other and I guess similarities are not surprising. The buildings look similar and the place looks like the continuation from one to the other.
