It's been a slow and difficult start to the year for some members of our team. Firstly, Silver-Blonde Lizzie has had to take a step back because of family business. I'm sure she'll fill everyone in when she returns. In the meantime, thank you to the team, especially to Silver Cat and Silver Love who are the newest members of our team.
Blog of the Month
As we mentioned when we announced this topic, we have slightly adjusted the frequency of this challenge so that it is monthly. Turns out that this was a good thing because of the various things that life spat at us during January. We are a little late with the announcement, but as they say -
The theme
This month we wanted something forward-looking. Also, after the last couple of years and when most folks' plans had been completely derailed, we thought just about this year.
There was a kickback (ha!) on our use of "bucket list" - we take that - on our collective chin and are delighted everyone rose to the challenge of the 2022 goals.
There was a total of nine contributions. Although the number was down, the quality most certainly was not and virtually every one of them has some sort of poignant reflective yearning for some settling respite this year. Three contributions were not eligible for prizes but all are more than worth mentioning.
Special mentions
Firstly, and forgivably Silver Dish who's recently moved town totally misread the deadline and really, really wants to get a dog. Among other things. Two of the team are looking for balance and, you guessed it, a little respite. Read Silver Cat's contribution here and Silver-Blonde Lizzie's here.

Of the remaining five, three were stand-outs, with two vying for first place, so we had to resort to the random pick to make it fair.

In third place
Like for so many Silver Mamma Chef is far from her children. Although visiting their part of the country is third on her list, my sense is that it's actually number one! Check out her top two.
In second place
Our self-described mad Silver Scot, I think, also saved his key goal for this year to last. Have a read at the big thing he's planning. I am sure it will be a fascinating, fun read.

New Silver Blogger, @eylz619 used this topic as an opportunity to get herself excited about 2022. Again, this reflects the uncertainty so many of us feel about the future and what there is to look forward to. Thanks to Covid and Omicron and all the fallout. She has grand plans. With determination, which it seems she has in spades, she'll make it happen.

Lizelle's prizes will come during the course of next week if not sooner. She won't forget.
