Hi, all awesome Silvery Bloggers!
We are very happy with the participation we have had in the first week of our collaboration with Dreemport this month. Thanks to everyone who joined this edition of the #SilverPrompts and shared with us their thoughts about Retirement.
To everyone who shared their experiences and engaged with other Silver Bloggers and Dreemers in this initiative...
Thank You!!
If you missed some of the contributions, we encourage you to go back and read some of the awesome responses. If you would still like to support the authors, even though they're past their payout dates, you can leave a tip. (The web versions of @peakd and @ecency offer this facility.)
And as is customary after each edition of #SilverPrompts, here is our compilation post with some of the featured entries. But first, let me mention the contributions of our team members.
- Silver-Blonde Lizzie told us how once she retired from the corporate world, she began the adventure of running an Airbnb in her garden cottage in The Beginning.
- SilverScot told us that he doesn't want a retirement but to be free as a bird in Do what you enjoy no matter your age.
- Silver Dude told us why retirement in a conventional way will not come for him in Retirement - Not Happening Here... I took care of that!.
- Silver Cat told us about how she would like her life to be in her silver years in A way of life rather than a retirement.
My Experience through Retirement / Silver Prompts
by @artywink - Silver Mamma Chef

I often wonder where the years went, it seemed to pass so quickly...it feels almost like a dream, if I could put it like that...my grandmother always used to say "Life is short, make the most of it while you're young", now I know what she meant.
Tired of... not being Retired!

My goal, for the immediate future, is to learn to be aboard, for a weekend... a week, and more. To learn to live in a small space, to find my way from point to point, and to explore my local area. To that end, I have in mind a small 27 foot Ranger Tug, to explore my area, the New England coastline.
Long live the retired!
by @charjaim

Being retired has given me time and possibilities, in addition to my work at Hive, where I have been able to grow a little more by expressing my thoughts, meeting people, reading valuable experiences and more. Long live the retired people!
Retirement or IKIGAI? ... IKI - what?
by @beeber

Thus, the path of personal IKIGAI seems to me more desirable than waiting for retirement in the distant future. Striving for the best possible life in the here and now more important than unhappily exhausting yourself more and more from year to year.
The value of time...
by @samsmith1971 Silver Sentinent

So I can't wait to reach that balance point where I can truly drop the daily grind altogether and throw myself into my interests and everything that brings me joy. I know that I will have more than enough to keep me busy... and... with the extra time, I may just get to sleep a solid 8-9 hours again*
*ps: That last point... who am I kidding?😂
Now Just Idling (Retiring From Work Stress and Alarm Clock)
by @ifarmgirl Silver Farm Girl

So yes, I've not been working since 2019, although I do some commissioned work once a year, I no longer have the hate relationship with Mondays, nor need to set an alarm. I can sleep or wake up whenever I want and perhaps if I have not a spouse, I can go anywhere too.😅
"My schedule is BUSIER after retiring!"
by @dreemsteem Silver Siren

I love being able to use my mind to build, create, and bring new concepts to life. No matter what form this work will take, I know that I'll never "retire". I'll just be transforming it into newer, more exciting versions of itself!
Metamorphosis
by @shanibeer Silver Moon
Gradually something happened, something evolved as threads passed across and through my hands, a new feeling developed, I became immersed, lost in something, clock time suspended as I explored, the shadows moving on the walls as the day passed. I realised this was how I wanted to spend time: making.
