Index4INDEX Card 198: Stephen Covey 2

Live out of your imagination, not your history.

-- Stephen Covey

About the Quote

Our history is fixed. We can't go back in time to undo or redo somethich which happened. We can't unhappen what had already happened. It's Ok to use our history as a reference, but it should not be used to fix us in place where we are-- especially if we are in a bad place in our lives.

The future is a clean slate, a blank page, and it offers us opportunity for a fresh start (or at least a course correction). By using the lessons we've learned from past mistakes, we can move forward as we had intended earlier.
