This is the second post in my series of battle lineups posts. The first one can be found here. As with the posts I have done in the past, the lineups are guided by historical battle data from Splinterlands.
The lineups here are made up by the Chaos Legion set, including promo cards.
This post examines Keep Your Distance matches between 30-40 mana in Modern Diamond league.
Conqueror Jacek (30 mana)
A high-risk high-reward setup. In going the distance, its very likely that incoming damage is frontline or on the snipe target. Both are covered here with cheap feeder units. This setup has 2x swiftness, 1x slow and a Blind, so Chaos Agent will be tough to hit. The setup relies on random poison procs with Dr. Blight, and lucky blast shots from Countess Sinash.
Quix the Devious (31 mana)
A dragon-water setup with Quix and Baakjira sets up good resistance to both types of attacks available in Keep Your Distance. The extra silence from Angelic Mandarin makes it very tough to get past Baakjira with Magic damage. Snare makes it easier to take down a Pelacor Conjurer or Void Dragon if your opponent goes for that.
Quix the Devious (34 mana)
An alternate Quix setup for 3 more mana. This is a fun speed-based setup with 3 Swiftnesses, 1 Slow and a fast, flying tank in Void Dragon. Ranged damage is debuffed twice (Quix+Scavo Chemist), and we provide support for the void dragon with Oshuur Constantia.
Lux Vega (36 mana)
Another setup with multiple speed manipulations: 2x Swiftness and 1 slow, in addition to the +1 Speed from Lux. Mixed damage output, and Triage to lessen the pain from Magic Reflects or Return Fires.
Astral Entity (38 mana)
With Astral Entity, we go for a magic tank, and gamble that any ranged attackers miss a few shots. The setup is frontline focused, and includes oppress to take down that Baakjira or Pelacor Conjurer. Lira is a powerful inclusion in this mode because of the rare combination of Opportunity and Ranged, and combines very well with the -2 armor that Astral Entity provides.
