Initially, it can be quite a hassle to fully understand the Steemit platform and the varying aspects of it, especially if you are a new user/minnow who has no idea what is going on and how things actually work around here.

But no worries, I've compiled a list of five different websites that offers useful features for those of you who need a little simpler and straight-to-the-point explanation to gain better understanding and work your way into the blogging world.

1. Steemit Help

This site is perfect for someone who is looking for a clean and easy way to get their burning questions answered about the Steemit platform. Not only does the site help you to understand the basics of the Steemit blockchain, but also gives you a deep insight on things such as posting, curation, markdown styling, and getting noticed for beginners.

It also helps you to find and join other social media platform/groups and apps relating to Steemit such as on Facebook or Twitter or Reddit, which you can use to socialize with other active members and communicate with them to gain attention and make potential followers.

2. Steem Now & Upvote Calculator

This one is my personal favourite because I pretty much use it all the time. Steem Now lets you know exactly how much a person's vote value is, without all the trouble of having to calculate it all by yourself. Just type in the name of the account and the details are popped right in front of you.

It shows you the amount of Voting Power you have remaining, the latest upvotes received on your posts and comments, and more. Similarly, Upvote Calculator helps you calculate the worth of an upvote using three criteria: Steem Power, Voting Power, and Vote Weight.

3. Steemd

Just like Steem Now, Steemd is a site that lets you know your exact reputation points (in decimals), your remaining Bandwidth, activity done from and on your account, and much more.

It lets you know your Voting Weight, Voting Power, the age of your channel (in a rather unusual way), and a lot of other small yet significant details which you might have overlooked.

4. eSteem

eSteem is probably one of the best apps out there that offers amazing features for Steemit users while still being decent sized, that is, not too heavy on your mobile storage. I've been using it since the day I found out about it and honestly, it really is quite interesting, let alone incredibly useful.

It offers features such as Push Notifications, Personalize & Multi-accounts, Pin Security, Track Your Followers, and many more. My favourite feature is that you can view the earnings of any post in your own national currency without having to calculate it every now and then.

In their words, it's

Basically it's the Steem interface you get used to but with additional handy options. Everything works out faster and easier with eSteem Mobile and eSteem Surfer applications. You can create your own posts, surf your friends feed or trending/hot/etc pages, upvote what you like, write comments, read replies, do all major Steem functions in your daily social surfing as well as wallet actions and of course few extras: search, discover different tags etc.

5. SteemCleaners

If you have been on Steemit for quite a while, you probably know that there are quite a lot of spammers and scammers here and that they are pretty fucking annoying. You've probably seen at least one in the comments of almost every single post you've made.

Since we minnows can't do pretty much anything about them personally, we instead have the option of reporting them in SteemCleaners where people in power, "take care" of these spammers by themselves. Not just spam, in fact, all kinds of abuse like Plagiarism, Cybersecurity Threats, Identity Theft, and of course good ol' Spam are all taken into account.

End Note

Hey guys! I tried to post something a little different this time around. I know I usually talk about either philosophy or my life and stuff but I thought it'd be cool to try something new and maybe help someone out. Let me know if you like the occasional change or would you rather have me continue on life-related articles. Nonetheless, thanks for sticking around. Really grateful!
