Attractions of Hoi An #10 Museum of History & Culture

The Hoi An Museum of History & Culture sits on the riverside in this delightful town on Vietnam’s Central coast. It exhibits a wide range of local artefacts, which include pottery and ceramics from two of the region’s most interesting periods in history. The Champa era ran from the 7th to the 15th century and the Da Viet era from the 15th right up to the 19th.

The beautiful Quan Am Pagoda, home of the museum

The museum is housed in the wonderful Quan Am Pagoda which is worth seeing simply for itself. Built in 1653 it is one of the oldest in the country. This is an interesting peek into the heritage of this once former trading port. Among the exhibits are ancient coffins and other relics from traditional burial rites. It paints an interesting picture of Hoi An through the ages. The ceramics on display are certainly interesting but not as abundant as those in the previously written about, Museum of Trade Ceramics.

The best time to visit Hoi An is between April and June: Read about this in depth here: @inseasia/best-time-to-visit-vietnam-5-hoi-an
