This is my 100th ULOG post since I discovered this awesome idea from Terry (@surpassinggoogle) who is also running @steemgigs witness. The concept is to help Steemians to find a topic for their daily blog, the topic is simply: themselves. ULOG is a log about you. I've been writing my ULOG posts every day except when the STEEM blockchain was down or when I was down myself during that terrible winter we had here in Australia.
Before we continue with the main subjects of today's ULOG, I would like to announce the winner of the "hidden" contest from my previous post ULOG 096 - Camping in Myall Lake NSW and little contest. In that post, I've asked my readers to spot something unusual in the following landscape photo:
The answer is a Guana or Monitor Lizard. It was on the morning of our last day camping at Myall Lake in NSW, Australia. The night was very cold and this big lizard was warming up on that tree as it was receiving a lot of sunshine. It wasn't spooked by my family when I called them to come and have a look nor was he spooked by me taking pictures of him, I even managed to get as closed as a couple of meters from him and take this close up shot with my iPhone 8 Plus with no extra lens.
Only three Steemians bothered come to read and comment on that post to give an answer but that was the purpose of this little hidden contest, reward those who engage. Today in my life
Since couple of days ago, the weather has been terrible in my area of Australia. It's been raining constantly, the sky is grey and the weather is cold. Healthwise, I'm trying to reduce my time on the computer because I feel tired everyday and my eyesight is getting kind of blurry at times. It's not easy when you are a developer and blogger.
With the weather changing, I find it difficult to fall asleep at night and yesterday was the same. I woke up late and tired, so was my wife. So we decided to go and eat out. We chose a french restaurant in Terrigal, L'isle de France sur Mer. It's been over four years we were talking about trying one of the two french restaurants near us and it's only now that we finally managed to remember about actually going lol. At A$57 per person, it better be good! And it was really good indeed. I had a Parfait de foie de volaille as entrée and a Côte de boeuf for main dish. My wife had some Escargot des Tropiques and a Poisson façon Provence. Check their menu for a description of the dishes. Everything was perfectly cooked and we were not disappointed. Sorry no photo today as I wanted to keep in my pocket and enjoy the time and food.
Increased Steem Payout
Have you guys noticed payout of our posts have increased recently? My ULOG posts are usually averaging $2.50 STU but the last ones were averaging $4 STU.
This increase was not because the price of STEEM has increased. It's because we now have much less spammers ripping the reward pool thanks to the RC (Resource Credits) system introduced by the HF20. There are more reward left in the reward pool so genuine authors like you and I are not receiving bigger shares. So there is indeed something good in all of this after all.
This is now time to post daily, you can earn more STEEM from the post payouts even if the price of STEEM is still low. It's time to start joining the @ulog movement and post every day!

You all know that your Steem password is the access to all your STEEM, SBD, posting, transferring, everything... right?
So, please, follow these simple steps and keep yourself safe:
- Apart from the initial setup of your account, NEVER use your password ANYWHERE, if stolen, it will give full control to your Steem account.
- Backup your password and keep it somewhere safe. Use a password manager like Lastpass, print it on paper and put it in a safe (no kidding). If you forget your password, no one can help you out.
- To login for creating content and curating, use your Private Posting Key
- To make transfers and account operations, use your Private Active Key
- To encrypt and decrypt memos, use your Private Memo Key
