Yezi’tra, Yezi’im – A’mara Complex

Benjan and Moxara walked back to the A’mara Complex, his arm keeping her close in the cold night air typical of the desert.

He stopped them outside the guest wing where Moxara had been staying. “I can bid you good night if you prefer. Or, you might be able to squeeze together with me?” he asked gently. “It’s completely up to you.”

Moxara felt herself smiling. She also felt inexplicably shy – a feeling that was alien to her. “If you are sure is enough room,” she finally said, trying to stop both smiling and blushing.

“Of course there’s enough room!” Benjan exclaimed eagerly. He kissed her and they went to his quarters instead.

He started kissing her again as the door closed. “I hoped so much you would want to stay with me, so I had the stella give me some of those leaves if you want to use one. I know your hormone levels are high,” he said between kisses. “Just smelling your pheromones makes me want you even more!”

His kisses grew more passionate, pressing his tongue between her parted lips and running his hands down her body lustfully.

Moxara’s PCS link buzzed.

“I’ll just get our room ready,” he whispered, leaving her to answer.

“Is everyting all right, Abári?” Moxara asked as she answered.

“I mostly wanted to ask if you have any further news,” Kivana said. “I’ve heard that Yth’n is in the hospital. Have you heard anything further?”

“Yt’n not expected to live. Anoder search party for son returned empty handed,” Moxara reported.

“That’s sad news. The Zley have not found their daughter either,” Kivana said.

“Is sad for sure,” Moxara replied.

“How’s the work coming along preparing for the survival class?”Kivana asked.

“Is ready as soon as students get here,” Moxara answered.

“Most of our people are busy preparing for Vestharya,” Kivana informed. “We’re going to have to wait until after then, I think.”

“Oh,” Moxara said, thinking of nothing else except the man in the other room. “Is wedding happening at Vestharya den? Guests coming from Varkevand?”

“Yes,” Kivana said. “In fact, I think just about everyone from Varkevand is coming – including Kami.”

“Good,” Moxara said. She wondered whether she would also be needing the abári’s services at that time and struggled to keep the blush off her face.

Kivana laughed. “We’ll be expecting you to arrive in time, but there’s no rush, I assure you. Just let me know if you need anything.”

“Of course. Good night, Abári,” Moxara said sensing that the abári knew of her emotional state.

She took a moment longer just to think. She knew that no method was 100% and that she should not share a bed with anyone before she was ready to have a child. She was also getting older. Benjan had already begged her to simply stay with him in Yezi’tra. Would that be so terrible? She wondered. Maybe they could travel a little more and she could have the best of both her worlds. She also wondered whether the spermicidal effects of the leaf could damage any survivors and might produce a defective child as a result. She had heard rumors. No, she didn’t want to risk that either. Benjan had been remarkable in every way so far. She had seen no red flags. If anyone should be seeing red flags, it should be him – at her constant fear.

She also thought of Tero, her young man in Ilim City – how they had waited. How she had wished for sixteen years that they had not. How she had wished for Tero’s child every day since his death. She would rather risk being a single mother than not being one at all, especially when she had so much love for Benjan.

“Are you okay?” he asked, coming to her.

“I was just thinking,” she replied.

“It’s totally up to you, I mean that completely,” he said, pulling her to him. “If you want to use the leaf, I’m happy. If you want me to use something, I’m happy too. If you don’t want to use anything, I’m even happier, but don’t decide based on my feelings – only yours. I just want you - always. But I also want you to be happy.” He started kissing her again, she met them with her own.

She felt his hands explore her body.

“Are you ready?” he asked quietly.

“Yes,” she whispered through a smile.

“Do you want me as much as I want you?” he asked again, looking at her intently.

“Yes,” she replied kissing him, pressing her body against his and welcoming his deeper kisses again.

Pulling back a moment, he pulled off his tunic and then hers. He lifted her to his bare chest. He carried her into the bedroom and placed her on the bed. “Let’s get some of these clothes out of the way, shall we?” he asked softly, pushing his own off, then focusing on her.

His kisses became more furious, his touches more intimate and more urgent until Moxara was begging for the fulfillment of her longing. He quickly gave in, joining his passion with hers with an eagerness she had never imagined possible, even with the pains of first love.

“What we do now?” Moxara asked quietly after the loving was concluded. He had rolled off next to her, basking in the afterglow.

She had no answer except Benjan’s gentle breathing next to her. She snuggled next to him. She had a million questions running through her head and he was already asleep. She used the leya to pull the blankets over them.

Moxara knew she had no regrets in loving him, even if she were about to receive a permanent reminder of him. Even if for some reason they didn’t work out together, a child would give her the reminder of the love they’d shared. That was the main reason she didn’t want to use the leaf, she realized. But now what? Would they get married? Would they live together here? What about Varkevand?

All these questions would wait until morning. She snuggled closer and he sleepily put his arm over her. Then his breathing settled again and she drifted off to sleep.
