I love finding new under-valued Steemians and this contest is a great excuse to find fabulous bloggers whose post aren't getting the attention they deserve. In case you aren't aware, the Pay It Forward Curation Contest is a weekly challenge from @pifc to find bloggers to promote.
If you want to know some of the things I look for when curating for Pay-it-Forward, please check out this article on How to Get Curated.
Here are this week's selections - reputation 55 or under.
Selection #1 - @yuriy4 (rep 50)
Rusanovsky fountains in the evening. Dnieper canal. 2019
I've seen this blogger around a bit since he joined last year. I love his photos which share many interesting parts of the Ukraine. I love visiting other parts of the world thanks to Steem, and this blogger is one of many who allow me to be an armchair traveler.
At the time of writing, he had 0.32 STU for this post - I think it deserves a lot more.
Also, due to likely RC problems, I am delegating 25 SP to him for awhile to help him blog more.
From the Ukraine to California
Selection #2 - @adalger (rep 53)
My California : The Miwok of Awahni - Yosemite Valley
I like a lot of this blogger's posts, but this one has the wonderful (bilingual) article to go with it! Although I've been to California, I've never been to Yosemite, definitely one of the state's treasures. But thanks to this blogger, I can really feel like I've been there now. The pictures are fantastic and the article informative.
At the time of writing, this post had 0.69 STU, higher than I normally choose for this contest, but I really liked this post and hope we can help get him a bit more recognition.
Flash-Back of the Week
This has proven fun - and is not meant to be part of the contest, just a fun extra. This week, I look back at:
Week 27 - @jbreheny (now rep 52)
Is An Annual National Park Pass Worth The Price?
If you live in the US or plan to visit - and visit any of the many National Parks, this is essential reading! Is the annual pass worth it? Short answer: if you plan to visit anything after Yellowstone and Grand Teton, YES!!! (Thanks! You've probably just saved us some vacation money, @jbreheny!)
This blogger is still very worth a visit. At the time of writing, this extremely valuable post still had only 0.03 STU! (And that's after my vote!)
These are my selections for this week. Please visit them and give them some love - even if you don't have voting power to spare, a kind word can make all the difference!
Note: All images remain property of the original poster. I've only used their locations.
Previous weeks
(Please consider entering this contest! If you no longer want to be tagged, let me know and I'll take the @ sign off it. People in bold have been active within the past month.* Designates someone involved with PIFC within the past month. Italics means they've been featured as a flash-back.)
Running totals:
Week 45: 52 out of 102 featured bloggers are currently active = 56%
Week 51: 64 out of 114 featured bloggers are currently active = 56%
Week 56: 63 out of 122 featured bloggers are currently active = 52%
My personal observations - if you want to stay in the game...
- Don't restrict yourself to a particular niche - contrary to standard blog advice.
- Get involved in at least one community on Discord. Below are three of the communities I'm involved in right now.
- Support others, engage, meet people.
