Situated about 25 kilometres from the centre of Dalat town, the Cau Dat tea hill is a very popular destination among many of Dalat’s young. There are over 540 acres of tea plantations covering the hills that are accessed by driving among beautiful pine forest on the road out of town. It is often called Cau Dat Tea Farm.
From atop the hill in the early mornings, the canopy slowly arises from the night as the mist starts to fade. During the colder months at the end of the year the scenery here is especially magnificent. There is a nice cafe at the top of the hill.

The Cau Dat Tea Hill is open at all times and there are no admission charges. road all the way there is sealed and copes with coaches quite adequately. Though for the larger buses, it is necessary for them to park outside. Early mornings and late evenings are the best times to visit.
One of the best ways to visit the tea hill is to rent a motorbike from Dalat and make the journey at your own speed, stopping to take in the pine forests en route. Motorbike hire is less than $5.00 per day. Alternatively you can hire 7 seater buses with drivers/guides from around $25.00.
