Ever since I saw this month's #BOM theme, all the Sandwich Memories haven't stopped jumping into my memory.
My childhood Sandwiches
My favourite sandwiches when I was little were the grilled cheese made with cheddar cheese that my mother would serve me with a cold Toddy (a classic Venezuelan chocolate drink). At that time, I also loved cream cheese and jam. At home, they use to make strawberry jam. So I also have bread and jam memories as @ifarmgirl Silver Farm Girl.
I also remember from that time, the ones with diablitos, as we call Underwood Deviled Ham in Venezuela. My cousins and I ate them on the long, fun days at the beach during our holidays. Those breads with diablitos tasted a bit of sand, but they were so delicious.
And some lunchboxes memories. I had a classmate at school whose mother would send her a Milanesa every day. Sometimes cut into strips and sometimes in a sandwich. Anyone would think that the girl was bored eating the same thing every day. But no way, there wasn't a living soul in our classroom who wasn't willing to trade her entire lunchbox for a piece of that Milanesa sandwich.
I also begin loving egg and mayo sandwiches as growing up. And now, they are among my favourites comfort foods. Although, I never ate them hiding in the classroom like @artywink Silver Mamma Chef.
Sandwiches from when I grew up
More snacks entered my taste buds as I grew up and stopped being the picky eater I sometimes was as a child.
I remember a time when my dad went on a weight loss diet that, far from prohibiting the consumption of fats, encouraged it. He came up with a real sandwich bomb. With fried cheese, fried egg, salami, and hollandaise sauce. Sometimes the salami was replaced by bacon.

Then there were the Pernil (Pork Leg) sandwiches we ate every time we visited my uncle, who lived about an hour from the city. You had to take an exit on the highway called La Encrucijada. After the toll, there was a kind of Luncheria where they sold some famous pernil sandwiches. The one in the photo that I ate a couple of days ago in a place near my house made me think of those sandwiches.
And on our road trips, we never missed some Asado sandwiches and chicken salad sandwiches with mayo and celery.
And next time I'll make chicken salad sandwiches, I will add cream cheese by recommendation of my friend @Eylz619 Silver Soul.
I also remember the clubhouse sandwiches my grandmother used to take me to eat in a cafeteria next to the supermarket she frequented. They also made a delicious cold Toddy there. I remembered this when I read @carolinacardoza Silver Candy writing about the clubhouse.
One from yesterday
And this is the most recent sandwich I ate just yesterday. We made it at home with a bread called grandma's bread. Sure they are not as good as the ones that @fionasfavourites Silver Flower sells every weekend at McGregor's Market, but as those are out of my reach, these are pretty good. The sandwich had slices of gouda cheese and smoked turkey, tomato slices, mayo, and dijon mustard.

These are just a few of my tastes in sandwiches.
And I was delighted to read my Silvery friends' memories on this. And of course, I won't fail to mention the memories of @lizelle Silver Blonde Lizzie who has already shown us that she is an expert in sassy sandwiches. This makes me wonder why the dude @mondoshawan Silverfish hasn't shown his culinary arts in this regard yet. As I understand, they both had a sort of Sassy Sandwiches competition on the blockchain.
Also, I wonder if my friend @tengolotodo Silver Scot has no Sandwiches memories. Maybe as he's from Scotland is all about Pies?

This is my out-of-competition post for the Silver Bloggers community #BOM, this month about Sandwich Memories.
Remember you still have time to participate until Tuesday, April, 12 at midnight UTC. You can check instructions and prizes at Blog of the Month: New Theme for 12 April 2022.
