Garden Journal Bi-weekly Newsletter 11th October 2023

Well I'm back with the newsletter and falling back in love with browsing through the gardening posts. I'll be honest, I was starting to get despondent with it and it was losing its joy, which I'm sure would have disappointed @thebigsweed. Incidentally, while we're on the subject of the hobitizing gardener his homestead is, as always, a joy to behold! I think it might be a Garden Journal entry, though, so I'll leave that with @riverflows.

I don't know if anyone finds these newsletters much use or even reads them any more, but I'll continue to do them for the enjoyment I get from them and to show my appreciation for the gardening goodness the authors bring to Hive.

As I seem to be overlapping with @riverflows' Garden Journal Challenge again my challenge is to find the gems that weren't entries. Imagine my luck to come across a beautiful gardening showcase that could so easily have been a challenge entry, but was in a different community! @godslove123 had me hooked at his ginger plant and the rest of the garden doesn't disappoint either.

I was intrigued by the title of @callmesmile's post claiming to have a bonsai cheat code. The post didn't get any less intriguing as I read on. She was wanting to get a bonsai at least as old as herself without paying out lots of money?! The solution really wasn't what I was expecting.

It was so hard to whittle the next two highlights down to just two. There are just so many tantalising garden posts this week! I ended up selecting @crazyphantombr's experience of composting with worms because it was one of the less well rewarded ones despite how good it was. A thoroughly recommended read.

Then I finally settled on @tegoshei's community garden post, because I just love it when community gets together to grow food...but darn it I still can't stop thinking about those stunning carnivorous plants from @delilhavores' plant meeting! Which was a meeting of carnivorous plant loving people rather than a meeting of plants...although it could also have been that...🤔 I'll let you decide.
