THE PRESENT OF PRESENCE

Quinn has been and still is away during my writing of this entire series on Unconditional Love. We have spoken only a few times since his departure to Panama a couple of months ago to birth his fourth child with Inok.
This is only one of the many times Quinn has been gone for months at a time. His presence is so big, that his absence leaves a huge hole in my daily existence--not to mention that huge hole now amplified by those darling Beings he takes with him that I also love so dearly!!
I could easily spend my day missing them all (as I have done in the past), and focus on how much I wish I was with him, feel left out, overwhelmed with the responsibilities that remain at the Garden of Eden, count the days until his return, hang on to every moment we have to connect, and feel like running away so as not to face the intensity of those feelings.
Every time Quinn leaves my reality takes on a whole new life and meaning, and I find the need to recalibrate what is important to me and make new choices. In the past I have struggled, sometimes more than others, to find my balance by filling that hole for myself.
Gratefully I feel more secure, more empowered, more real, more in tune, and more joyous than in times past. I dedicate my moment-to-moment energy in honing my focus on what I’m going to do now, and seriously delve into my practice of presence. For in this moment I have everything, I am enough already, and (as Quinn would say) "everything else is bonus!"!
I feel that sharing this story with you is an indicator of where I am--in gratitude for everything we have shared, for all of the ups and downs, the trials and tribulations, the heartbeats and heartbreaks, and everything in between.
I am grateful for the eternal love that Quinn and I know, that supersedes and permeates all time and space. For though we are apart, we are still together. Our love grows stronger as I grow stronger. A true testament to the power of Unconditional Love. May we continue to rise above!
