Amidst the Chaos that has brought only darkness and despair.
A small flicker of light may carry all the world's hope.
The Riftwatchers are coming
And the Splinterlands will never be the same. - Riftwatcher's Trailer
Introduction
Hi! @Saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday.
Ritwatchers is a mini set for the Chaos Legion much like how Dice is for the Untamed and for quite a while now, Riftwatchers have been available for ranked battles and has brought big changes on the game. Not only that most of the monsters are mana- hungry as lots of them cost high mana, some even exceeding 10, they also introduced a new ability called Fury which doubles the damage for monsters that have the Taunt ability. I'm done with the all the Summoners as well as the Fire and Water monsters, now I'm going with Earth monsters.
Just a little side note before I start: I owned 4 accounts that are @crimepoet and @agonyaccepted, playing at modern league and @avainattempt and @saydie which are playing at wild then I also play a bronze cap scholar account, bltzr-wizard-223 from Balthazar guild and use the battle data from this account for my content. But I won't be using the scholar anymore and instead, I will be using bltzr-wizard-726, a new account with max level Chaos Legion deck and I hope I can produce more amazing battles and strategies with this account and I would like to thank my guild for trusting me as a Splinterlands player.

| Element | Earth |
| Rarity | Common |
| Card Type | Melee |
| Abilities | Reach Heal |
| RF Burn Val. | 5 DEC |
| GF Burn Val. | 125 DEC |
Lore
Mischievous and violent creatures, bramble pixies live in abundance on the forest realm of Folia, where they spend their time tormenting woodland creatures, laying traps, and making a general nuisance of themselves. They have a nasty penchant for wrapping the deadly hedge-scoke bramble around their blades. The sap of this bramble is known to enhance emotion—particularly anger—and the bramble pixie is prone to striking at their foes in a deadly rage, stabbing the life out of them.
When the Riftwatchers visited Folia, some of these pixies stowed away in their packs. During the journey through the rifts to Praetoria something happened to their wings and when they arrived they were unable to fly; however, you can always hear the angry buzz of their wings when they attack. While they’ve learned to avoid contact with the hedge-scoke bramble’s sap, the bramble pixies haven’t lost their mischievous streak, which can be a painful annoyance to their Riftwatcher allies. It has the Reach ability at level 1 which allows it to be able to attack even when it was on the 2nd position which makes it a good secondary tank as it also has huge health and at level 6, it will gain the Heal ability which allows this card to restore a portion of its health. The ability to restore health is also can also be used under Noxious Fumes rule set where monsters received -2 poison damage at the end of the round. Use Case
Lichen Beast is a melee monster of the Earth element. It has the Enrage ability which increases the speed and damage of this card when it recieves a damage and the Knock Out ability deals double damage when attacking a monster that is stunned so it is a card of consideration when playing monsters such as Uloth Dhampir, Spirit Shaman and Iza the Fanged for the Earth element. This can be a good tank alternative for low mana cap battles or on Odd Ones Out rule set where you still have spare mana to use Hill Giant and does not have enough mana for something like Pelacor Mercenary

Use Case
Suidae Shaman is a magic monster of the Earth element. At level 1, it has the Recharge that deals 3x the damage but can only attack every other turn that can be a good counter against monsters with Forcefield ability since they only received 1 damage from an opponent has more than 5 damage but that does not include stack damage. The Giant Killer ability that it gained at level 4 will be good against monsters with more than 10- mana as they will received twice the damage so if it was timed right, together with Recharge, it can deal magic damage x 3 (Recharge) x 2 (Giant Killer) damage on an opponent with more than 10- mana. The last ability that it will gain is Rust which removes the armor of the opponent which can be used when fighting against summoners such as Kelya Frendul, Tyrus Paladium, The Peakrider, Granmaster Rathe, Drake of Arnak and the very first neutral summoner Lux Vega and can be an alternative for Sporcerer and Queen Mycelia. It can also be used when there is a Armored Up where monsters are given +2 armor or when there is Weak Magic where all armor becomes Void Armor which will be a pain when using an all magic line- up. It is also a card that is useable for Evens Stevens rule set.

Uloth Dhampir

| Edition | Riftwatchers |
|---|---|
| Mana Cost | 9 |
| Element | Earth |
| Rarity | Common |
| Card Type | Range |
| Abilities | Stun Triage |
| RF Burn Val. | 20 DEC |
| GF Burn Val. | 500 DEC |
Lore
As far as jade orcs go, The Uloth are quite unconventional. Unlike other tribes on Anumun, which are commonly hermitic and territorial in nature, the Uloth travel the lands and welcome outsiders. They are highly civilized and disapprove of violence, although they are not opposed to hunting wild game for subsistence or taking up arms in self-defense.
Because of the Uloth’s culture of acceptance, many orc dhampir—the offspring of a female orc and a male orc infected with vampirism—choose to call the tribe their home. They look much like any other orc, although they are more slender and agile. One could even be forgiven for mistaking the sharp fangs that protrude from their jaws for the tusks of a typical orc. What gives them away is their eyes; they are a haunting, glazed yellow that holds a hint of their ancient and reviled heritage.
Like many of their tribe, the uloth dhampir are highly proficient with the hoopak, a tall stave topped with a deadly sling.
Following the Chaos Legion’s arrival, the Uloth were furious at the wanton destruction of their lands. They headed for Praetoria to take up arms against the invaders.Continue Reading...

Use Case
Uloth Dhamphir is a range monster of the Earth element. It can use Stun at level 1 that will cause the opponent to not be able to attack for a turn where can be a good ability to have under the Heavy Hitters rule set where every monster has a Knockout ability or use monsters such as Lichen Beast, Goblin Dartling and Oaken Behemoth for the Earth element. At level 5, it gains the Triage ability which restores the health of back- line monsters that receives the most damage which can be used as alternative to a level 1 Spirit Hoarder or a level 3 Queen Mycelia when playing under the Rise of the Commons or Lost Legendaries rule set and will also allow monsters to last longer when there is a Noxious Fumes rule set where all monsters receives -2 poison damage every turn.

Runemancer Florre

| Edition | Riftwatchers |
|---|---|
| Mana Cost | 13 |
| Element | Earth |
| Rarity | Legendary |
| Card Type | Magic, Range |
| Abilities | None |
| RF Burn Val. | 500 DEC |
| GF Burn Val. | 12500 DEC |
Lore
The first time Florre encountered the Chaos Legion was on her homeworld, Folia, in the Forest of Flames. The forest was a beautiful yet dangerous place. Its fire-scorched trees were burned and blackened. Their leaves smoldered with glowing embers. Pools of bubbling magma and mud pots could be lethal to any who stumbled into them or ventured too close.
As Florre ventured deeper into the forest, gathering reagents for the healers of her village, the clank of metal and rough tone of angry voices broke the silence. Through the trees, three warriors in dark armor and black cloaks tromped among the flora. Ahead of them, a pair of wild elves staggered along, their wrists bound by rusty iron chains and manacles. As she stared in horror, a warrior raised a whip and lashed one elf across the back. He staggered and fell to his knees. When the second elf bent to help him, the warrior whipped him, too.
Rage burned within Florre like the flames in the surrounding trees.
She murmured a spell, and two red and blue birds appeared above her. They soared through the branches toward the armored warriors and flittered overhead. As they did, the manacles around the elves’ wrists clicked open and fell to the ground with a metallic clank. The elves stared down in surprise. Then they whirled and charged the warriors, fists swinging. Continue Reading...

Card Use Case
Runemancer Florre is both a magic and range monster for the Earth element. This card does not have any abilities but it can attack with both range and magic per turn which is similar to having a Double Strike ability. At level 1, it has 2 range and 2 magic damage which can already deal some decent damage but can still go to 3 magic and 4 range damage on the highest level. This card can still be powerful with the help of Osidian and Delwyn Dragonscale which increase magic damage by +1 or with Prince Rennyn and Selenia Sky that can boost range by +1. You can use this card on Close Range rule set or just use Fernheart so that it can still attack with range even when on the first position. it cost 13- mana but at the same time, it also has a very huge health of 13 and this card can be used for Odd Ones Out rule set.

Final Thoughts
With Riftwatchers now added to the ranked battles, it added more varieties and combinations on the strategies that we can use specially on High- Mana battles and one thing I notice is that even at their base level, most of this monster are competitive enough for higher leagues.
The Earth team has a very balanced team in terms that it has a splinter available for every attack types. Except from Suidae Shaaman, all the cards for water Riftwatchers has Odd mana- cost, making them suitable for Odd Ones Out.
The monsters that I really like on this group was Uloth Dhamphir because of the StunStun and Triage ability and Runemancer Florre for it's dual attack. Suidae Shaman is also good but it depends if it timed the attacks accurately while Bramble Pixie and Linchen Beast remains an alternative tank choice depending on the situation.
