Like anyone, I have gone through moments of despondency and disappointment in my life, considering that they are situations that are crucial in the life of every person. There was a time when I felt lost and directionless, not knowing exactly what I wanted to do with my life. However, what helped me overcome this feeling was realizing that I was not alone and that many people have gone through similar situations. I began to seek support from my family and close friends. As a curious fact, my family has never been one to express feelings. It is seen as something strange, and we don't like it because they can make situations more uncomfortable. We always get distracted by talking, playing games. tables and cooking, they being my true happy place. Like my children, they are older and a little over 2 years ago the “youngest” left home, leaving me only with my granddaughter, who later went abroad. I also have my job that helps me overcome those feelings, I like to always distract myself doing what I like most, cooking.

Every morning is a ray of hope for most of us. Some of us are lucky while some are still in the waiting. But all of us will reach to our expectation one day, for sure. Hope is the only one which keeps us moving and to which we cling on to as each day begins. Hope is something like a dream yet to become true. If I had to say about myself, I was a person who used to get annoyed and angry for small issues without reason.
But after marriage my life took a different turn. My husband was a person who was even more annoyed and anger than me, which meant inorder to move forward in life I had to control my anger. I became silent. My sudden transition of becoming silent upset my parents in the beginning. But in a way I realised how disturbed my parents were, due to this nature of mine. Now its just my "hope" that one day my partner too will realise the intensity of his anger.

"A success story isn't told overnight". This is the phrase that puts me back on track each time it feels like I'm giving up. Life has fed me many lemons but that phrase aforementioned has helped me push through despite the shock in my teeth. When I'm at my lowest, I mostly listen to inspiring trap-songs because it helps me shake off the negativity. Most of the time I go to Facebook and scroll. I call it hopequesting even though many relate to the act of scrolling through Facebook as doom-scrolling. I made sure that my feed was filled with beautiful things and beautiful people. I mean people whose art work, wacky unique sleeves and light can make me grab onto hope again.

@purrix : @purrix/loh-community-contest-156-clinging-to-hope-or-or-aferrandome-a-la-esperanza

The truth is that talking about it is a bit difficult for me, being this such a turbulent year in my life. Just when I thought I was starting to get back on my feet, to breathe a little after feeling so mentally and emotionally suffocated, I fall back down again and it seems that with more strength. I have certainly had a hard time finding peace. Many times I used to ask myself why, why me? I have always tried to help others and I have put aside my own interests, my own dreams and even my own life to please, to be there for whatever they need me for and what I get in return are more disappointments, tears, punishment, trials so difficult to overcome that have made me lose faith at times and of course, question many concepts with which I have grown up.
