Herbie Mann (1930 - 2003) : jazz and fusion flautist

Just right to the summer fits our today's guest with his hot rhythms. Started with jazz, he was one of the first representatives of world music during his musical life combining North African and Brazilian rhythms in his music. Even excursions into rock and pop music he could record with great success. His outstanding position as a flutist is reflected in the down-beat polls of the most popular jazz flutists, whom he led from 1957 to 1970. Have fun listening!

Aus dem Jazz kommend verband er als einer der Ersten Vertreter der Weltmusik im Laufe seines Musikerlebens nordafrikanische und brasilianische Rhythmen in seiner Musik. Auch Ausflüge in die Rock- und Popmusik konnte er mit großen Erfolgen verbuchen. Seine herausragende Stellung als Flötist spiegelt sich in den Down-Beat-Polls der beliebtesten Jazz-Flötisten wieder, die er von 1957 bis 1970 anführte. Viel Spaß beim reinhören!
